University of the Year

The University of Huddersfield became  the Times Higher Education University of the Year in November 2013. This follows hot on the heels of its success at the awards last year where it collected the Entrepreneurial University of the Year award.

Exciting times ahead

The award comes at an exciting time at the University with its new Student Central building now open. The new building forms a central hub, home to the Students’ Union and support services plus a state-of-the-art sports centre and gym which includes an eight court sports hall, two squash courts and two dance studios as well as a gym kitted out with Technogym Artis technology.

Student satisfaction and teaching excellence

The judges highlighted the University’s outstanding record for student satisfaction and employability with the University placed in the top ten in the country in both categories. The University was inundated with messages on Twitter and Facebook from current students, staff, alumni and the local community as well as applicants who were keen to congratulate the University and express their pride at attending the number one University in the country.
